It can be a bit frustrating when a developer makes an unwanted change in a program's update. This is available for operating systems as well. Apple's changes to the dock in Mavericks and Yosemite are not too popular, but they can be restored to their former glory with cDock. This lightweight utility can help you customize your dock without too much effort. You can apply pre-made skins or make fine adjustments yourself. The application is offered completely free of charge and you can have it up and running in no time. What's more, cDock is still in development, so you can expect new features.

cDock's compact user interface doesn't present much more than a drop menu with options for modifying the dock and the Finder. You can choose to install a transparent dock right away or to install a customizable dock or a pre-made one. It is also possible to install a colored sidebar for the Finder windows, as well as a LaunchAgent fix. Additionally, the application allows you to create a bug report and undo all your changes. The best part is that all these options can be selected in a single drop menu, after which you only need to hit an OK button.

Pre-made docks are stored as files on the disk, and you can choose which one to install on a standard Open dialog. All files contain a series of values, for the dock's colors, positions, corner radius and other characteristics. If you decide to customize the dock yourself, the application will open its settings file, on which you can modify these values manually. To help you figure out which values should be changed, cDock will open an instructions file as well.

The application enables you to customize your dock in Mac OS X. You can modify it manually or apply pre-made settings. Using cDock is quite easy, thanks to its simple design and straightforward functionality.

There are no obvious issues to address. If you are not happy with your dock in Mac OS X, cDock will help you change it at a moment's notice.
